As I already mentioned in a previous post, more than a month ago, I collaborated with the employment shuttle “Almanzora Lánzate 2016”. I offered them an emotional freedom workshop that was very welcome.
As I explained back there, employment shuttles are formed by unemployed people who, leaded by a coach, join together in a team to look for a job. That way, they discover new abilities and competences, and rise their self-esteem at the same time.
“Almanzora Lánzate 2016” is reaching the end of this course. So yesterday, I was invited, together with other collaborators, to an event, so we could have breakfast together. The purpose was to show us their appreciation for our collaboration. So to start, each participant explained what these past 5 months have meant for them, and why this type of projects are paramount for the community and should continue having a place.
I had the opportunity to talk with some of them, but I was left wanting to dedicate some words to them as a team, so here they are:
Congratulations to everyone for the great job you’ve accomplished. I know you sure have gone through many good moments, as yesterday. But that you overcame together others not that good.
Your path is reaching the end, and the week ahead is going to be hard. Now, is when the legs begin to shake and one asks him or herself, so now what?
I’m not telling this to make you depressed. I’m telling it to you to assure you that it’s perfectly normal, it’s part of the process. And everything you’ve learnt during the course of this project, the resources you’ve acquired, and the confidence and self-esteem that you’ve recuperated, are not going anywhere. All of them will stay with you.
From now on, the work must continue though. In other way, that’s for sure. Your perspective has changed from the moment where you started this adventure, but the journey continues and you’re still a team.
Some of you will find that dreamed job sooner than others, that’s life, but I didn’t want to say good-bye without mentioning that when any of you feel low, it’ll be ok to contact the others for help. We live in a society where to ask for help is a sign of weakness. But the reality is quite different. Only the strongest are not afraid to show their weaknesses openly. They know that is the only way to transform them into strengths. And at the end of the day, we’re human beings, and our relationships are what keep us afloat.
So that is all. I wish you all the best. I hope your dreams will come true and mainly, that all of us will keep learning and growing.
